An Invitation to Apply (ITA) is an official auto-generated document issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to high-ranking candidates in the Express Entry pool. It serves as a formal invitation for these selected individuals to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

The Purpose of an ITA

Receiving an ITA means a candidate has met the cut-off threshold in a specific Express Entry selection draw and has been chosen by the government to move forward in the immigration process. It tells the applicant exactly which economic immigration program they have been selected for and provides instructions on how to submit their complete application.
